The navy was caught short when it was called on to supply most of the bombers for the war on Afghanistan. In particularly short supply were the guidance kits that turned dumb bombs into smart bombs. So the navy asked the air force for some of their bomb kits. At first the air force said no. The air force was somewhat miffed by the fact that this high profile air campaign was being fought with practically no air force bombers. Soon, everyone realized that the navy really, really needed those bomb kits, and that the air force would never be able to use all the ones it had. The navy got the bomb kits.
