The Israeli Air Force has contacted with Israel Aircraft Industries to upgrade three of its KC-707-300 tankers with new communications, navigation, and instrumentation systems. This will keep the aircraft in service through 2020. Each has a boom to refuel those aircraft which use that system (F-15, F-16) and two pod-mounted hose reels to refuel those aircraft (A-4) which use the "Navy" system. Cost of the work will be about $ 5 million per aircraft.--Stephen V Cole
