The United States officially pronounced the AUC a terrorist organization today. Apparently in response, police began arresteing AUC members over the last few days. The US has listed the ELN and FARC as terrorist organizations since 1997. All of these groups use terror to enforce loyalty, or discourage betrayal, among civilians.
