There 84 Indian tribes in Colombia, containing some 700,000 people. Unfortunately, the tribes tend to be in out-of-the-way places favored by drug gangs and rebels for hide outs and smuggling routes. Now that the government is clearing out rebel and drug gang operations, the tribal lands are often becoming battlefields.
