January 17, 2006: In the last week, at least two dozen people have died in Pakistan's southwest (Baluchistan), and many more have been arrested for attacking police and troops. The Baluchi tribes are resisting the building of new army camps in their territory. The troops are moving in to protect natural gas production and pipeline facilities. The tribesmen want a larger cut of the gas sales.

January 14, 2006: Abu Huzefa, an Islamic terrorist leader who planned an October bombing in India's capital, was killed in Indian Kashmir. Huzefa usually could flee to terrorist bases in Pakistani Kashmir, but these bases are destroyed, damaged or overrun with air workers and Pakistani troops delivering relief to earthquake victims. Violence continues in Indian Kashmir, with the Islamic terrorists getting the worst of it.

January 13, 2006: In northwest Pakistan, American Predator UAVs used Hellfire missiles against a building where al Qaeda's second-in-command Ayman Al Zawahri was supposed to be attending dinner. Al Zawahari had not shown up, and eighteen others were killed. Some may have been al Qaeda, but the rest were not. This triggered a media frenzy by anti-American, and pro-Islamic radical (and conservative) groups. Al Zawahri is a 54 year old Egyptian physician with a $25 million price on his head. Local Islamic zealots will now be looking for whoever tipped off the Americans.
