Egypt has signed a deal with the US to upgrade its fleet of 35 AH-64A attack helicopters into AH-64Ds. Conversions will begin under a $400 million contract in July of 2003. No decision has been made so far on Egypt's request to outfit these aircraft with Longbow radars.--Stephen V Cole
