So far, 103 Russian designed 82mm mortar shells have been fired. Most (80) have been fired this month. The shells are apparently fired from home made mortars (the right size pipe will do.) Accuracy is not much, but firing at fairly large targets like Israeli settlements, you don't need much accuracy. The 82 mm mortar shells are common in many Middle Eastern and African armed forces. They are easily smuggled into Palestinian territories. The actual mortars are heavier and bulkier, which probably accounts for the use of improvised mortars to fire the shells.
