Two Palestinians, one a member of the Palestinian naval police, snuck into an Israeli army base near Gaza and killed four soldiers. The two Palestinians died as well. Hamas took responsibility for the attack. Attacks on Israeli troops are not considered terrorism by Hamas, so this does not violate the truce (at least according to Hamas.) Israel began retribution by moving into Palestinian territory and destroying houses the attackers may have used for cover on their way to the Israeli base.
