: 10.0pt">  Violence went up as two soldiers were killed in Gaza and police intercepted a car bomb (half a ton of explosives) in northern Israel. 

The army and police continue raids into Palestinian areas to arrest terrorists. Enthusiasm for terrorist attacks is declining in the Palestinian community. A senior Palestinian security official has publicly called for a halt to terror attacks. Going after Israeli civilians is popular with the terrorists, but it costing the Palestinians political support from other nations, especially in Europe. Many Palestinians would prefer that the attacks just be against Israeli soldiers, police and settlers. Some terrorists agree, but these are more difficult targets and the terrorist groups all agree that their goal is the expulsion of all Jews from the region.
