Troops continued to destroy buildings in Yassir Arafat's compound, and demanding that Arafat surrender several suspected terrorist leaders taking refuge in his offices. The complete curfew has been restored in the  West Bank.

Deaths in the current violence have now reached 2507. While Israeli dead are mostly civilians, including many women and children, most Palestinian dead are men of military age, usually involved in some form of violence against Israelis. Israeli public opinion increasingly supports harsher measures against the Palestinians.

The Palestinian terrorist organizations, although in reduced circumstances (having lost many bomb making facilities and bomber volunteers), are determined to fight to the end.
