 The army chief of staff suggested that more negotiation and less military force be used to deal with Palestinian terrorism. The army sees an endless series of bloody battlefield encounters using the current tactics, while the politicians don't see any alternative to the current approach. The political opposition says their must be a better way, but cannot come up with anything that is acceptable to a population terrorized by the suicide bombing attacks.
