In return for North Korea agreeing to delay testing its new missiles, the U.S. is easing the trade sanctions in place for over forty years. This will include unfreezing some 13 million dollars in North Korean assets.

September 16; South Korea will send a battalion (400 men) of peacekeeping troops to East Timor.
