North and South Korea have agreed to have the South inspect the North's power system for the purpose of linking their power grids and having the South supply the North with electric power. The North has a chronic power shortage and electricity from the South would enable the North to begin rebuilding its economy. The power link would also make the North economically dependent on the South.
