It is thought that private negotiations are continuing between China and North Korea over the north's nuclear weapons program. The Chinese appear to be fed up with the north's disruptive and self-destructive behavior. The Chinese do not want North Korea armed with nuclear weapons, and they want economic reform to stem the increasing flood of hungry, broke and desperate North Korean refugees sneaking into northern China. China is North Korea's last reliable provider of economic support, and China is threatening to cut the north off.
