A UN aid ship arrived with 9,000 tons of food, which is expected to prevent starvation among some half a million refugees around the capital. Since Nigerian peacekeepers and American marines control the port in the capital city, Monrovia, this aid is unlikely to be stolen. It's a common pattern in African countries for rebels and bandits to intimidate aid workers and live off the food aid. Often, the gunmen will steal all the food they can get their hands on, and sell what they can't eat, to hungry civilians. 

Nigerian peacekeepers took over most of the LURD checkpoints in the capital, especially at bridges, as LURD gunmen withdrew to some 20 kilometers outside the capital.
