MODEL and LURD demand that Charles Gyude Bryant, the interim president of Liberia, be removed. The rebels threatened to not disarm if this was not done. Bryant was selected to run the country until elections in 2005. The rebel groups are upset over the distribution of jobs and money by Bryant. To make matters worse, LURD and MODEL are breaking up into factions, usually over issues of money or power.
