The peace talks are stalled over rebel insistence that the army not enter territory the rebels consider under their control, and the refusal of the five main political parties to take part in the peace talks. The political parties are feuding with the king, who unilaterally began peace talks with the rebels. The rebels are against the monarchy as well as the democratic political parties (which are pretty corrupt, as is the aristocracy.) The rebels want to establish a communist dictatorship.
