Maoist rebels abducted 350 teenagers from schools in central Nepal. Some fifty of the kids managed to escape, but the rest will be taken off to Maoist camps, where they will be subjected to several days of indoctrination. Some of the kids will then volunteer to join the Maoists. In several other attacks, 23 security personnel were killed, along with six rebels.
