Nepal's usual weapons suppliers are refusing to ship ammunition to the army and police. This leaves the armed forces and police with a 4-6 month supply. While India, the United States and European nations oppose the kings takeover of the government, they also don't want the Maoists to take over. But not shipping ammo, on the chance that the political parties can regain control of the government, risks giving the Maoists an edge. This could get ugly, as civilians are organizing vigilante militias to oppose Maoist terrorism, and lawlessness and disorder are spreading.
