A judicial committee investigating the May 2001 CAR (Central African Republic) coup attempt has been accused of conducting arbitrary arrests and is aggravating tensions in the coups aftermath. The committee currently has 70 people under arrest and intends to try 628 other people in absentia. What makes complaints against the committee interesting is that some of the criticism is coming from members o the ruling Movement for the Liberation of the Central African People (MLPC). On November 16 the judicial committee officially accused General Francois Bozize of murder.
