Army commandos raided a rebel base nine kilometers inside rebel territory. Three rebel bunkers were destroyed, as well as a camp. A dozen rebels were killed or wounded. The commandos returned unharmed. In two other clashes, seven rebels were killed. The rebels also reported that 217 suicide bombers ("Black Tigers") had died in attacks since 1987.
