Australian security officials have named Osama bin Laden and the various groups linked to him as the single greatest threat to the Sydney Olympics. Australian officials note that bin Laden has established cells in the Philippines and Thailand, and had a network of connections across Australia itself. March 4, 2000; Independent experts have told Congress that 30 countries have "aggressive information warfare programs" in place and all of them have targeted the US for peacetime snooping and wartime disruptions.
