Police in Montreal arrested an Egyptian refugee on 7 March for the illegal possession of explosives and counterfeit money. The suspect, Tariq Abdili Kafagi, claims that he was framed by a police informant. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed that they had begun tracking him after receiving a tip from a regular informant, but said that they had been following him for "some time". Curiously, Canadian police increased security around the Israeli consulate in Montreal at the same time, although
