The Bell Helicopter Textron factory built in Amarillo, Texas, to build the V-22 Osprey current employs 248 people and covers 200,000 square feet. By the end of 2003, the factory will double in size, and the work force will steadily grow until it reaches 1,500 by 2008. The factory will build all of the military V-22s as well as the civilian BA609 tiltrotor.--Stephen V Cole
