Russia has sold another Mi-17 helicopters to Colombia (which already has ten). Each Mi-17 can carry 30 troops, or cargo or casualties. Price was not disclosed, but the Colombians probably got a good deal. The Mi-17 is the standard utility ("flying truck") helicopter in Russia and is very popular with overseas customers. The Mi-17 is cheap, easy to operate and has a larger carrying capacity than equivalent American choppers (UH-60).
