Canada has issued a $39.4 million contract to BAE Systems Canada (formerly the Canadian branch of Marconi) to install new flight instruments on 16 of the 18 Canadian CP-140 Aurora maritime patrol planes. These are the Canadian versions of the P-3 Orion. The systems will include electronic flight instruments, an embedded GPS and inertial navigation system, a new radar altitude warning system, and a digital auto-pilot. The work is to be completed within 43 months.--Stephen V Cole
