Using a combination of bribes, rewards and public works projects, Special Forces are getting more useful information from villagers. This is leading to arms caches hidden in caves and villages, as well as al Qaeda hiding out in the countryside. The villagers know that the weapons could someday used on them, if only because they might be caught in the crossfire. Turning over Taliban is another matter, as these are usually Afghans and to do that risks starting a feud that could last for generations. Tons of weapons (including artillery) and munitions are being found.
