American troops continue to be fired on when moving around villages outside Kandahar. In eastern Afghanistan, four rockets were fired at the airport, apparently by Taliban or al Qaeda. The inaccurate rockets missed their target and wounded three civilians.

Fighting continues between warlords in northern Afghanistan. The central government would like more foreign peacekeepers to help prevent the tribal warfare. But foreign nations are reluctant to do this, especially after seeing the problems U.S. Special Forces are having dealing with pro-Taliban tribes outside Kandahar.
