Afghanistan: November 5, 2002

Haphazard attacks continue to be made on Special Forces camps in eastern and central Afghanistan. The attacks, using 127mm (or smaller) rockets or rifle fire, are inaccurate and none have hurt any Americans yet. But there is still about one attack a day. Few of the attackers are caught, although more aggressive responses are being used (sending ground patrols off to scour the surrounding hills and track down the attacker.) So far, it appears the attacks are just local hot heads who don't like the idea of foreign troops in Afghanistan.
