A group identifying itself as Taliban has threatened Pakistani truckers who supply fuel to American bases in Afghanistan. These fuel contracts are lucrative, and the truckers make deals with tribes and warlords to guarantee the safety of their trucks and drivers. If the Taliban went after the trucks, they would be declaring war on local groups that would fight back.
