Former Afghan warlord and current Islamic radical Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and his terrorist organization Hezb-i-Islami have apparently taken to remote controlled mines in a big way. This probably has something to do with this technique being a favorite subject taught in Iranian terrorist training camps. Hekmatyar sought refuge in Iran while the Taliban (who considered Hekmatyar a homicidal maniac) ran the country. Hekmatyar has since returned to Afghanistan and is trying to "drive out the foreigners." Several remote controlled bombs have gone off recently, all directed at US troops or foreign aid workers.
