The Uzbek mines laid on the borders of  Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan continue to cause causalities among soldiers and civilians moving along and across the largely unmarked borders. Four Uzbek soldiers were killed and 14 wounded by two mine explosions. Several more civilians have died.
