In an unusual coup for the government, a half a million bullets intended for FARC troops was seized in a grocery store Some 47 civilians were killed by right wing para-military militiamen 530 kilometers north of Bogota, in an area long fought over by the left wing rebels and the right wing militias. The civilians were killed because they were suspected of supporting the rebels. These killing are supposed discourage such support. Sometimes it works, sometimes it just makes it easier for the rebels to recruit..
