US president George Bush broadcast a message to Iran pledging friendship and aid for those struggling against the tyranny of the Islamic radicals. However, no specific offers of assistance were mentioned. Islamic radicals interpreted this broadcast to mean that, once America conquered Iraq, Iran would be next. In more practical terms, both moderates and Islamic radicals see the possibility of American Special Forces and air power supporting moderates if it comes to a civil war in Iran.
