The Palestinian government has prohibited civilians from carrying weapons openly in the Palestinian territories controlled by the Palestinian government. This will be difficult, and dangerous, to enforce, but is a step forward in bringing peace to the Palestinian areas. This move also reduces the amount of bullets fired into the air. This practice, done in celebration, or just to get peoples attentions, causes hundreds of deaths and injuries a year, as the bullets fall back to earth and hurt people.
