Israel and Palestinians are serious about working out a ceasefire, but that's all it is. There isn't going to be any peace deal. Palestinian terrorist groups continue to preach the need to destroy Israel, and Palestinian media continues to put out a constant stream of hate-Israel and anti-Semitic propaganda. But the Palestinian uprising (Intifada) of the last five years has failed, and the Palestinian economy is a mess. Palestinians want Israel destroyed, but for the moment they want to do something about their dire poverty.
