Tribal violence, over ownership of cocoa growing land, left at least 14 dead in western Ivory Coast. The breakdown of the government has allowed many land disputes to get resolved by tribal vigilantes. The unrest, vigilantes and banditry has encouraged both the government and the rebels to try and make peace.
