In Chechnya, five soldiers were killed by bombs and mines outside Grozny. Russia is moving it's satellite launching operations from the huge, Soviet era site in Kazakhstan, to a smaller base in northern Russia. Increasing problems with the Kazakh government over control of the launching center, and payments for its use, caused the decision. The move will be complete by 2005.
