The Ugandan government announced that it had intercepted an arms shipment moving from Sudan to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Ugandan security forces intercepted the shipment in the Nebbi area (northwest Uganda). The shipment contained light automatic weapons, later described as submachine guns, and ammunition for the weapons. The government report did not speculate on either the source of the shipment or the intended recipients.
